Amazon Brings Smart and Connected Ramadan Experiences to Families in KSA

Riyadh, KSA – 20 February 2025: As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Amazon Devices including Alexa and Ring offers a range of experiences designed to support daily routines, spiritual practices, add flavorful family-friendly fun to gatherings, and keep customers close to what matters the most.

Alexa’s spirituality features are amongst the most used by customers in the KSA and the UAE, with over 5.1m prayer reminders and 1.69m “Athkar” actions. Surat Al-Baqara was 2024’s most requested sura, with Maher Al-Mu’aiqly being the most popular Qari. In addition to Quran recitations and Athkar, customers will be able to ask Alexa about the Zakat Al Fitr amount applicable in the UAE and KSA, along with a routine for fasting.

Here are a few ways Alexa can assist customers with their daily practices during Ramadan:

  • Customized routines

Alexa can extend a helping hand to customers by automating daily chores, where customers can create personalized routines to manage their home during Ramadan. For example, a Suhoor routine can be set to include an alarm, a Quran recitation, gradual lighting adjustments, and temperature control, ensuring a timely and comfortable start to the fast.

  • Iftar meal preparation

Alexa offers voice-guided access to a variety of Iftar recipes, simplifying meal preparation during a busy time. For added convenience, Amazon Alexa can play Iftar meal recipe walk-through videos on Echo Show devices with the Fatafeat skill.

  • Family engagement

Alexa provides interactive entertainment options like Fawazeer Ramadan, fostering family engagement during Iftar gatherings. Alexa can also make Eid more fun with suggestions on how to dress, gifts, and words of kindness to be shared during this special occasion.

Customers using Ring cameras will have ease of mind while:

  • Keeping a close eye on their kids when away from home

Ring devices can give parents ease of mind by enabling them to check in on their kids while they are busy or away. Parents can also use the two-way talk feature to communicate with their children and remind them to be ready for suhour or iftar.

  • Welcome guests with ease

Ring doorbell cameras enable customers to check who’s at the door, allowing them to welcome guests when coupled with a smart lock while they’re busy setting the table or adding the final touches to the iftar meal.

Amazon Devices are designed to support families throughout Ramadan through practical features while making their daily spiritual practices easier and more accessible.
